Go, Baptise, Teach: Stepping Into Your 10-in-1 Season

Go, baptise, teach with Ps Larry Elliott at 3C South Coast

Moving with Purpose: Go, Baptise, Teach

Our journey through the GO! series at 3C South Coast Family Church reached a new level of intensity this past Sunday, 3 May 2026. Pastor Larry Elliott delivered a powerful message that cut straight to the heart of our mission as a church family. He reminded us that the mandate to go and make disciples of all nations is not a suggestion reserved for the “super-spiritual” or those on a platform; it is a direct command for every single believer.

We are currently standing in what we believe is a divine “10-in-1” season. This is a time where we expect God to accelerate our harvest, doing in one year what would naturally take a decade. However, as Pastor Larry pointed out, this acceleration requires us to be active participants. We cannot see a 10-in-1 result with a stationary heart. To see the supernatural, we must follow the three-fold action plan Jesus gave us: Go, baptise, teach.

Lordship Always Precedes the “Go”

A common mistake we make is waiting for a feeling of confidence or a specific “sign” before we move. Pastor Larry challenged this by explaining that our movement must start with Lordship and equipping, not just a change in location. Before Jesus sends us out, He establishes His authority in our lives. We don’t go because it is convenient or because we have all our ducks in a row; we go because He is Lord.

Mend your nets

He used a beautiful analogy from Ephesians 4:12-16, explaining that the work of the ministry is about the equipping of the saints. In the original context, “equipping” carries the meaning of “mending the nets”. If your life feels stagnant, or you feel like you are treading water, it might be time to return to a place of being equipped. The moment you are spiritually mended and submitted to His Lordship, movement begins naturally.

You are a Leader in Your Sphere

One of the core values of our church is the belief that every believer is a leader. Pastor Larry was very clear: God never intended for us to just attend, receive, and be blessed. While He certainly wants you blessed, you are blessed specifically to be a blessing to others.

The mission to go, baptise, teach is essentially a call to influence and reach people. If you are saved, you are sent. You are called to be a “river” that carries the life of God into your workplace, your home, and your community, rather than a “reservoir” that just stores up blessings until they become stagnant. Whether you are a business owner, a student, or a parent, you have a mandate to lead those around you toward Christ.

Every believer a leader

The Courage to Leave Behind

You cannot move into the future God has for you while you are still clutching the weights of the past. To “Go” always implies a “Leave”. We see this throughout scripture: Abraham left his country, the Israelites left Egypt, and the disciples left their nets.

What are you leaving behind? Go, make disciples

Leaving is often the most difficult part of obedience because we crave the familiar. Pastor Larry noted that some of us have become “happy in our misery,” choosing the pain we know over the uncertainty of the path God is marking out.

He urged us to lay aside every weight and the sins that so easily trip us up. This includes mending old wounds — pulling out the emotional “arrowheads” that have pierced our hearts in previous seasons. As Hebrews 12:1 encourages us, we must “run with endurance the race that is set before us”.

Lifestyle Obedience Over Location

We often think the Great Commission is about a mission trip to a distant land. While that is wonderful, Pastor Larry reminded us that “Go” is a lifestyle, not an event. It starts right where you are.

True faith doesn’t mean having all the answers; it means obeying the Word of the Lord by grace even when you don’t fully understand the strategy. Noah built an ark before the first raindrop fell, and Abraham left his home without knowing his destination (Hebrews 11:8). When we rely on the grace of the Holy Spirit rather than our own logic, we move from frustration into rest.

Activating the Power of Heaven

Many believers are waiting for a surge of power before they step out, but the reality is that power flows on our obedience. Jesus stated in Matthew 28:18-19 that “all authority” belongs to Him. Because of that authority, He sends us.

When you speak, He moves. When you step out, He backs you up. This is how you go – faith for a new season and see the supernatural break into your daily life. Miracles do not follow our good intentions; they follow our active obedience.

The Urgency of Now

We are living in a time where people are searching and the nations are shaking. The Church cannot afford to be silent. Pastor Larry warned that in a world where truth is being diluted, silence is not neutrality — it is disobedience.

As II Corinthians 6:2 declares, “Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation”. There is an urgency to the call to go, baptise, teach. Don’t wait for a platform or perfect conditions. Reach someone, pray for someone, and disciple someone… today.

Small Group / Cell Leader Discussion Guide

Focus Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20

  • Net Mending: Pastor Larry spoke about equipping as “mending the nets.” Is there an area of your life where you feel God is currently mending you so you can be more effective in ministry?
  • The “Leave”: To go forward, we must leave something behind. What is one habit, fear, or “familiar misery” you feel the Holy Spirit is asking you to let go of this week?
  • Sphere of Influence: Identify your current “mission field.” How can you practically start “going” in your workplace or home this week?
  • Obedience Over Logic: Reflect on Hebrews 11:8. Have you ever felt prompted by God to do something that didn’t make logical sense? What was the result of your obedience?

Practical Steps for Your Week

The Great Commission begins with the word “Go”. Here is how you can put this into practice:

  1. Stop Waiting for Clarity: If you have a prompting from the Lord, move on it today. Trust that the power will flow as you obey.
  2. Commit to Equipping: Be intentional about being in church and in your cell group. This is where the “mending” happens.
  3. Start the Conversation: If you or someone you know is ready to take the first step in following Jesus, you can use this salvation prayer to begin that journey.

A Blessed Prayer

Father, in the Name of Jesus, we respond to Your command to GO.

We declare that we will not stay where You have called us to move, nor will we hold onto what You have asked us to release. We reject fear and choose bold obedience. Holy Spirit, empower us to be doers of Your Word and effective disciple-makers in our communities and our nation.

We thank You that You are with us always.

In Jesus name

Amen.
